School Holiday activities

NSW Winter Holidays: 4 - 19 July 2026

Other activities during the school holidays will include:

Green Screen: 11am – 2pm daily

  • Will you battle the blaze or brave the freeze? Dress up as a firefighter or arctic explorer, then strike a pose in front of our green screen. Take home a free photo with a virtual background of some spectacular fire and ice themed scenes!

Construction Zone: 10am-4pm daily

  • Put your engineering skills to the test in our frosty construction zone! Use large ‘ice’ bricks to design penguin habitats, cosy igloos and more!

Plus, don't forget our new Energy Futures Zone! Step into the future and spark your curiosity with Energy Futures - our brand-new, hands-on exhibition here at UOW Science Space that's all about energy, excitement and discovery! From clean energy tech to interactive displays, there’s something for everyone to see, touch, and marvel at. Perfect for kids, parents and curious minds alike - come spark some big fun this school break!

The team from Aspire is back with their pop-up kiosk (10 - 2pm) and their new food truck (11 - 2pm) serving up a range of hot food and snacks! Keep your family refuelled and powered up as you explore all the interactive fun at UOW Science Space - perfect for keeping little (and big!) explorers energised for the day!
